Lucas Krauel Giménez-Salinas

Researcher Lucas Krauel graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1991. He specialized via MIR in Pediatrics and its specific areas to later pursue Pediatric Surgery, completing his specialist training in 2009. After obtaining ECFMG certification to practice medicine in the United States, he completed a fellowship in pediatric oncological surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York during the years 2012-2013. He earned his Doctorate from the University of Barcelona in 2017 focused on 3D surgical planning studies for complex surgeries.
He is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona since 2017 and director of the master's program in pediatric oncological surgery at the same university.
Dr. Krauel is the director of the Pediatric Oncological Surgery Unit at the SJD-PCCB hospital. He is an executive member of the European Board of Pediatric Surgery and editor of the Annals of 3D Printed Medicine journal, as well as a member of the leading scientific societies in the field (EUPSA/IPSO/EBPS).
Currently, he is part of research groups in childhood cancer and new technologies applied to health with a clear translational vocation.
