Víctor Chavarría Romero

Researcher Víctor Chavarria Romero graduated in Medicine in 2012 from the University of Lleida and completed his residency in Psychiatry at Parc de Salut Mar, obtaining his specialist certification in 2017. Between 2016 and 2017, he spent time with the IMPACT - Barwon Health team in Geelong, Australia, where he collaborated on projects related to the placebo and nocebo effects, as well as the relationship between Angiotensin II and mitochondrial function in Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, respectively.
He is a reviewer for the "World Journal of Psychiatry" and has conducted external reviews for the journals "Bipolar Disorders," "Frontiers in Psychiatry," and others. His most recent research areas have focused on biomarkers for Bipolar Disorder, telehealth in mental health, and the assessment of spiritual aspects in clinical practice.
Clinically, he was in charge of the Acute Day Hospital of PSSJD-Sant Boi between 2019 and 2025, and is currently an assistant psychiatrist in the Acute Unit of the same center and has extensive experience in the area of Intellectual Disability.
