Funding for one-year projects lead by new investigators, with focus on leukemia, lymphoma, MDS, and multiple myeloma.

Eligibility

- Preference given to proposals that focus on leukemia, lymphoma, MDS, and multiple myeloma.

- New Investigators are considered to be within seven (7) years of their first independent position. Years as a resident physician, fellow physician, or post-doctoral fellow are considered to be training years. Questions regarding eligibility should be directed to our Research Grants Administrator.

- Adjustments for career interruptions can be made. These could include but are not limited to, family leave, military service, major illness or injury. It is the responsibility of the applicant to point out and document such interruptions.

- Applicants with an NIH KO8 or K23 are eligible.

Exclusions

- DOE, DOD, NSF, R21, or other grants with less than $175,000 per year in total direct costs are permitted. (Multiple grants which, when added together, have a total of $175,000 or more per year in total direct costs are excluded.)

- NIH RO1 funding, VA Merit Award or equivalent.

- Career development awards from other national foundations, (ACS, ASH, Burroughs Wellcome, Kimmel Scholar, etc.).

- Any single grant of $175,000 or greater in total direct costs per year.

- Renewal applications will not be accepted.

Submission information

- Investigators at the instructor level or similar position must include a letter from the department chair confirming their independence. The letter should also describe the facilities and resources available to the applicant.

- List of current yearly funding must be included.

- Applications should be e-mailed to: Grants@LRFMail.org. All applicants will receive a receipt via e-mail when their application is received.

- Grants will only be accepted electronically; hard copies of grant applications will not be accepted.

Deadline

The deadline for Letters of Intent for the 2020-2021 funding cycle is February 7, 2020.
