Description

The Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) initiative is a European Partnership under Horizon Europe, co-funded by the European Commission, aimed at coordinating research and innovation efforts to support the transformation of health and care systems across Europe and partner countries. The Joint Transnational Call 2026 (JTC 2026) invites collaborative, innovative research projects that contribute to equitable access to and utilisation of health and care services. Projects should generate evidence-based solutions, enabling policy and decision makers to implement resource reallocation and system improvements.

The call emphasizes multidisciplinary, cross-sectoral collaboration, involving clinical research, public health, bioinformatics, digital health, technology, Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects (ELSA) research, health economics, and other relevant fields. End-users, including patients and citizens, as well as companies, academia, and policymakers, are expected to participate actively. Projects must adopt an ecosystem-wide approach, aligning with THCS goals to ensure sustainable transformation and systemic impact.

Objectives: Fund innovative, interdisciplinary research projects that support equitable access to health and care services and foster sustainable transformation of health systems.
