Description
The Rainin Foundation supports high-risk research and challenge investigators to push boundaries to advance the goal of predicting and preventing Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
The Kenneth Rainin Foundation's Synergy Award is designed to encourage collaboration among health researchers from across disciplines to advance the study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). It funds groundbreaking or unconventional methodologies, whose risky outlook is justified by the possibility of a major breakthrough. Throughout the application, it is essential to demonstrate that the end product of the proposed research could not be achieved without collaboration.
Eligibility
Synergy Awards may have up to three investigators at the same or different institutions. Researchers from any scientific discipline are eligible for funding.
Researchers may hold advanced degrees (MD, PhD or the equivalent) and academic positions at universities, medical centers or research institutions.
Documentation
All grant application materials must be submitted using the Foundation's online application system:
- Synergy Award Proposal: Proposals consist of description of project objectives, methodologies, milestones to test the innovative idea within a period of one year, description of how the research team will collaborate and work synergistically to achieve their goals, project budget, and disclosure of other financial support (budget using the template provided, all necessary research costs can be budgeted, including personnel, reagents, supplies and equipment).
Funding
Synergy awards are given in increments of $100,000 for each investigator, with a maximum value of $300,000.
