The JPIAMR, in partnership with 8 European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK), and Canada, is launching a fourth joint call for working group proposals.

Introduction

The call sets out to assemble motivated groups of leading experts and establish Working Groups in order to enhance resource alignment and maximise existing and future efforts to combat AMR by pushing forward the conceptualisation of ideas, in turn providing white papers, prospective views, guidelines and/or best practice/ roadmap/systematic reviews and frameworks of value to the wider research community.

Based on the priority topics identified in the JPIAMR Strategic Research Agenda, applicants are invited to tackle one or more of the suggested focal areas. However, the following examples are neither mandatory nor limiting. Working Groups should be assembled with emphasis on what is needed at a National and International level to address AMR.

- Guidelines on use (Human & Veterinary) – Affordable stewardship

- Surveillance in primary care

- New anti-infective/ New adjuvant therapies / Alternative approaches

- Evaluation of risk for generation of resistance in human setting

- Rapid diagnostic tests

- Role of environmental factors

- Infrastructures/Biobanks available relevant to infection and AMR

Each transnational Working Group is expected to include partners from at least 3 participating countries. Working Groups must be led by a coordinator eligible to funding. Participants from other countries may also take part in the call. Those working groups selected will be funded by the coordinator's institution's national funding agency, in compliance with said country's national rules. If for some reason this is not possible, funding may be allocated to a partner of the working group. Each funding agency can potentially fund any high-quality working group on any focal areas. However, note that:

ICSIII (Spain) will not fund national partners leading on a working Group in focal area 6- "Role of environmental factors", hence within this a Spanish expert cannot lead the Working Group, but can form part of the Working Group.

Funding

A maximum grant of €50,000 will be awarded per selected Working Group over a 6-to-12 months' time period. Funding will cover the cost of meetings and travel required to achieve the working group's objectives.

Deadline

The proposal submission deadline is June 6th, 2016 (17:00, CET)
