CRAASH Barcelona is a 3-month acceleration program that supports research teams and startups based in Catalonia in bringing their innovations in medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health to market. Projects must be in the life sciences field, covering any disease or pathology, and at TRL 3-6.

The program consists of three phases:

• Phase 1 (Validation) focuses on assessing problem-solution and solution-market fit within the healthtech sector.
• Phase 2 (European immersion) exposes teams to healthcare ecosystems in Catalonia, Spain, Germany, and Sweden, while strengthening their pitching and communication skills for investors.
• Phase 3 (US immersion) immerses participants in the United States healthcare ecosystem, supporting them in building valuable international connections.

CRAASH Barcelona is free of charge for participants, and the promoters do not take equity. In return, in the event of a successful outcome, a profit-sharing scheme has been established (see Section C of the guidelines).

Requierements

Technology fit: Applications must be projects or startups in the fields of diagnostics, medical devices, and digital health. Drug discovery and drug development technologies are not eligible.

Regional fit: Applications must be projects or startups based in the Catalonia Bioregion or have a proven link to the region.

Innovation Maturity Level (IML) fit: Projects should be at IML 3 (Proof of Concept) to IML 6 (Initial clinical trials), both included.

Team fit: Applicant teams must include at least three members representing three different roles: entrepreneurial, technical, and clinical lead.

Teams willing to apply to CRAASH Barcelona need to have a project in the field of lifesciences, in any pathology or disease.
