Introduction
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are part of the Horizon Europe programme and are managed by the European Commission. MSCA Doctoral Networks aim to implement doctoral programmes through partnerships of organisations from different sectors across Europe and beyond, to train highly skilled doctoral candidates and stimulate innovation and knowledge transfer.General Description
The MSCA Doctoral Networks 2025 call supports the development of structured doctoral training programmes that foster international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral collaboration. The goal is to enhance researchers' employability and career development while strengthening Europe's innovation capacity.There are three modalities under this call:
- Standard Doctoral Networks: Focused on training doctoral candidates in academic and non-academic sectors.
- Industrial Doctoral Networks: Involve the non-academic sector, especially industry, in the doctoral training.
- Joint Doctoral Networks: Promote joint, double or multiple doctoral degrees awarded by at least two institutions.
Projects should last up to 48 months, and each recruited doctoral candidate must be enrolled in a doctoral programme and supervised by at least two institutions. Training should include research and transferable skills, and secondments to other sectors or countries are encouraged.

Requirements
- Proposals must be submitted by consortia of at least three independent legal entities established in different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
- Each doctoral candidate must be recruited for a minimum of 3 years and enrolled in a doctoral programme.
- Doctoral candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the recruiting country for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to recruitment.
- Organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors are eligible to participate.
- The call supports interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral training, including secondments and joint supervision.
