FRI is interested in funding exploratory, discovery and preclinical research into novel drug targets and biomarkers with potential application in specific indications within the following core therapeutic areas:

- Gastroenterology & Hepatology Reproductive.

- Medicine and Women's Health.

- Urology.

The following types of studies are beyond the scope of the program:

- Clinical studies

- Studies which require the collection of human samples under the direction of an Institutional Review Board. f your proposal includes analysis of anonymized human samples, they must be collected independently of this application.

Characteristics

Award winners will be selected solely on the basis of their academic qualifications. There are no quotas for individual disciplines or countries. The most important assessment criteria are:

- academic publications in internationally reviewed journals and / or publishing houses.

- statements on the candidate’s academic profile and potential in the form of expert reviews, requested by the candidate, from different institutions and, where possible, from different countries.

- the academic quality and feasibility of the research project proposed by the candidate.

Funding

$50,000 to $100,000. Reasonable indirect costs can be included for consideration in addition to the research grant award.

Duration

One year commencing in January 2020

Applicants are required to submit a pre-application. Succesfull applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
