Resume

The WCRF grant programme accepts applications on the link between diet, nutrition, body composition, physical activity and cancer prevention and survival.

An application to WCRF International must fall into one or more of the research themes listed here:

  • Address emerging exposure-outcome links relating diet, nutrition (including body composition) and physical activity to cancer
  • Improve the characterisation of existing exposure-outcome links relating diet, nutrition (including body composition) and physical activity to cancer
  • Identify and characterise host factors/susceptibility that might explain variation in cancer risk or progression in response to diet, nutrition (including body composition) or physical activity
  • Identify and characterise progression and outcome in cancer survivors in relation to diet, nutrition (including body composition) and physical activity
  • Identify mechanisms that underpin links between diet, nutrition (including body composition), physical activity and cancer

    Types of grants
  • Investigator Initiated Grants (IIGs)
  • Pilot Grants (PGs): start-up funds for pilot research on innovative ideas relevant to WCRF International research themes. This will allow researchers to collect preliminary data and to develop their idea to a stage where an application for an IIG would be appropriate
  • Requirements

Applications are accepted from anywhere in the world, except the Americas.
The Principal Investigator must hold a senior established research position (not a PhD student) at the host institution.
A maximum of four applications will be accepted from one institution.

Important: Please note that prior to starting a grant, the Principal Investigator and the institution will need to accept the terms and conditions as covered in section 7 of the Guidelines. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure all appropriate departments are aware of the terms and conditions before an application is submitted. Any queries regarding the terms and conditions of a grant should be raised before submitting an application.
