Objective

Horizon 2020 is the new EU funding programme for research and innovation running from 2014 to 2020.

The Horizon 2020 societal challenge of 'health, demographic change and wellbeing' (SC1) for the years 2014 and 2015 includes 34 topics in the 'personalizing health and care' focus area call (15 in 2014 only, 17 in 2015 only and 2 which are open in both years).

The personalizing health and care call aims to create opportunities for real breakthrough research and radical innovation, by supporting the translation of findings into the clinic and other health and care settings to improve health outcomes, reduce health inequalities and to promote active and healthy ageing.

PHC-04-2015: Health promotion and disease prevention: improved inter-sector co-operation for environment and health based interventions

PHC-11-2015: Development of new diagnostic tools and technologies: in vivo medical imaging technologies

PHC-14-2015: New therapies for rare diseases

PHC-16-2015: Tools and technologies for advanced therapies

PHC-18-2015: Establishing effectiveness of health care interventions in the paediatric population

PHC-22-2015: Promoting mental wellbeing in the ageing population

PHC-24-2015: Piloting personalised medicine in health and care systems

Eligibility

Entities established in the Member States of the European Union. Entities from other countries may be also eligible for funding.

For Research Innovation Actions and Innovation Actions: Minimum of three legal entities. Each of the three shall be established in a different Member State or associated country. All three legal entities shall be independent of each other.

For Coordination and Support Actions: one legal entity established on a MS or AC. For SME instruments: one for-profit SME established on a MS or AC.

Types of actions and funding rates

Research and innovation actions: 100%. Funding 3-25 million €

Innovation actions: 70% (except for non-profit legal entities, where a rate of 100% applies) 2-3 million € FSJD is a non-profit legal entities)

Coordination and support actions: 100% 1 million €

SME instrument: 70% (exceptionally, 100%) 1-5 million €

This is a two-stage call.

Deadline for the first stage: 14/10/2014 (FSJD Deadline 07/10/2014)

Deadline for the second stage: 21/04/2015 (FSJD Deadline 14/04/2015)
