Luciana Beatriz Diaz Cutraro

Investigador pre-doc

Dr. Luciana Díaz Cutraro is currently working as a clinical coordinator in the AVATAR VR Therapy for Treatment-Resistant Hallucinations project at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, funded by EIT Health (2024-2025). Her work focuses on the study and development of technological solutions for the prevention and treatment of psychosis, from early stages to treatment-resistant conditions. Additionally, she is a collaborating professor in the Master's in Child and Adolescent Psychology at UOC, where she supervises final master's projects.

She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires, is a specialist in Clinical Psychology (Argentina), and has a PhD in Psychology from Ramon Llull University. Her doctoral thesis addressed cognitive constructs involved in the development and maintenance of psychotic spectrum disorders, such as jumping to conclusions and social cognition, and explored the specific treatment differences and needs between men and women. She also delved into the conceptualization and evaluation of metacognition in psychosis, aiming to improve current knowledge and contribute clinical and research applicability to this field. She also has postgraduate studies in Clinical Psychology and Cognitive Psychotherapy, along with diverse training in evidence-based psychotherapies.

In her teaching experience, she was a professor of "Psychological Clinic and Psychotherapies: Psychotherapies, Emergencies, and Interconsultation" at UBA, and later taught classes for psychiatric and clinical psychology residents. She also collaborated in the general health master's program at Ramon Llull University (Blanquerna).

Her clinical training includes a residency in Clinical Psychology at the Braulio A. Moyano Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Buenos Aires, where she specialized in treating people with severe mental disorders, particularly women. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in Perinatal Mental Health at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, gaining clinical experience in the mother-baby unit. She has also worked in private practice as a clinical psychologist, treating young people and adults with various mental disorders.

Luciana integrates her clinical, research, and teaching experience to advance the development of evidence-based interventions, particularly innovative therapies that include technology to improve outcomes and adherence in psychological treatments for psychosis.
