Between 2003 and 2007, he completed a postdoctoral stay at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (Baltimore, MS, USA) where he studied, through experimental models, the molecular mechanisms that regulate lipid and glucidic metabolism in mammals. Subsequently, the Joslin Diabetes Center-Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA) deepened, through human studies, the knowledge on the mechanisms involved in the development of insulin resistance, obesity, and risk of type 2 diabetes.

Since 2013 he is a Researcher of the Endocrinology Service of the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital. Currently, together with Dr. Josep Carles Jiménez Chillarón, he leads the research group in Pediatric Metabolic Diseases · Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu.
