Montserrat Izquierdo Renau

Research group
Montserrat Izquierdo Renau graduated in Medicine in 2001 from the University of Valencia. She is currently enrolled in the Doctorate program of the University of Barcelona. Her thesis project is called Nutritional Modulation of Growth and Short-Term Results of Extreme Premature Baby, directed by Isabel Iglesias Platas and tutored by Martí Iriondo Sanz within the research line of Physiopathology of medical diseases- Surgical and the Pathophysiology of Fetal and Paediatric Diseases group.
She studied Paediatrics at the Hospital La Fe in Valencia and since 2007 works as a specialist physician in the Neonatal Service of the SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital. Between 2007 and 2012, he has worked as a doctor in the Emergency Medical Service, in the Paediatric Interhospital Transportation Unit.
He is an active member of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Group of the Spanish Society of Neonatology.
From a teaching point of view, she has been director of numerous Neonatal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation courses at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, training paediatric residents, nurses and midwives.
From the research point of view, she actively collaborates in the line of Prematurity and influence of nutrition, care and the environment in the development of the newborn (PI: Isabel Iglesias) focused on the study of the nutritional support of the premature baby.
