Head of Tuberculosis Research Line

The researcher Antoni Noguera Julian graduated in Medicine in 1997 from the University of Barcelona and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2005. He also has a master's degree in AIDS (University of Barcelona, ​​2008).

Since 2018 he has been an Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona (Associate Professor since 2006) and, since 2009, he has been the director of the master's degree in Child Health at the University of Barcelona.

Since 2006 he has been an Associate Physician at the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Pediatric Service of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu ​​where he has coordinated the Pediatric Tuberculosis Reference Unit since 2011.

Currently, he leads the Tuberculosis Research Line (within the Infectious Diseases and Microbiome Research Group). The main areas of study are the pharmacokinetics of first line antituberculosis drugs in young children and new immunodiagnostic tools for tuberculosis infection in children. He is co-author of more than 180 scientific articles in indexed journals and has supervised 8 doctoral thesis.
