Head of Tuberculosis Research Line
Researcher Antoni Noguera Julian graduated in Medicine in 1997 from the University of Barcelona and obtained his PhD in Medicine in 2005. He also holds a Master's degree in AIDS (University of Barcelona, 2008).
Since 2025, he has been Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Barcelona (Associate Professor, 2006-2018; Associate Professor, 2018-2025), where he has directed the Master's program in Infectious Diseases in Children and Adolescents since 2023.
Since 2024, he has been Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, where he has coordinated the Childhood Tuberculosis Reference Unit since 2011.
Currently, he leads the Tuberculosis Research Line (within the Infectious Diseases and Microbiome Research Group). His main areas of research are the pharmacokinetics of first-line antituberculosis drugs in young children and new immunodiagnostic tools for tuberculosis infection in children.
He is co-author of more than 240 scientific articles in indexed journals and has supervised 11 doctoral theses.
