Marta Montori Grau
Investigador post-doc
The researcher Marta Montori Grau graduated in Biology in 2000 from the University of Girona and obtained her Doctorate degree from the University of Barcelona in 2008. Her thesis was carried out in the research group of the Dr. Anna Mª Gómez Foix in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Faculty of Biology and based on the study of the control of muscle and liver glycogen metabolism by the regulatory subunits of the glycogen binding protein phosphatase 1. Since 2008 she has been contracted by CIBERDEM (Biomedical Research Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases Network) at the University of Barcelona.
During 2006 he stays in the research group of Dr. Rafael de Cabo (National Institute on Aging (NIA), Baltimore (USA)), where he trained in the study of glycogen metabolism in vivo. In 2012, she was awarded a Marie Curie fellowship, included in the DIATRAIN program of CIBERDEM, for a one-year stay in the research group of Dr. Solange Desagher at the Institut de Génétique Moléculaire in Montpellier (France), where he received training in in vitro and in vivo ubiquitination analysis techniques. Marta Montori Grau has been the tutor-director of Final Degree Projects and Master's Theses at the University of Barcelona and led from March to December 2015 as the principal researcher the project SAF2012-37480 "Control mechanisms of the metabolism of glucose and fatty acids in muscle and transcriptome analysis and phenotype of myogenic human cells derived from adult and embryonic stem cells "in substitution of Dr. Anna Mª Gómez Foix.
In 2016, Marta Montori Grau joined the group of Drs as Postdoctoral Researcher. Manuel Vázquez Carrera of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Barcelona, where he conducts research on the study in skeletal muscle of endoplasmic reticulum stress in relation to type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially on the regulation of PGC-1α.
