Research group
Guillem Marti graduated in Biochemistry in 2005 from the University of Barcelona and obtained his PhD Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2012. He also took a master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine and also graduated in Biology in 2010 from the University of Barcelona.
Since 2010, he has been a postdoctoral student in the Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering group of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, where he has been an Associate Professor since 2016.
He currently leads the study of cellular interactions with biomaterials for bone regeneration, bone replacement, cardiovascular stents and cancer therapy. In addition, his research is focused on the development of new molecules derived from the extracellular matrix, obtained by means of recombinant DNA techniques, to functionalize biomaterials to improve their bioactivity.
