Daniel Rodríguez Rius graduated in Industrial Engineering in 1996 from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2000.
Between 2002 and 2008 he was responsible for R&D at Impladent SL, a manufacturer of medical devices.
Since 2009 he has been an associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
He has been president of the Iberian Society of Biomechanics and Biomaterials from 2014 to 2018.
He is currently studying the development and application of treatments with antimicrobial capabilities in implantable biomaterials.
