He completed his nursing studies at the University of Barcelona (UB) and his psychology studies at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He has completed a postgraduate course in Humanization and Spiritual Care in Plural Societies at the University of Barcelona (UB) and a Master in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Vidal y Barraquer Foundation-Ramon Llull University (URL).
He has been instrumental in conducting research on the spiritual and religious diversity in maternal and child health care at the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, recently. He has spearheaded the initial national study on the significance of spirituality in pediatric palliative care, which has received research funding from the Directorate General of Religious Affairs (DGAR) of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR). He has also received a competitive grant for research on bioethics and narrative medicine for her work "Clinical narratives of death: an opportunity for the ethical development of professionals" awarded by the Grífols Foundation.
He is a member of the working group titled "INEDyTO 2: Bioethics and Practices Related to the End of Life" (PID2020-118729RB-I00), which is financed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the State Research Agency, and is affiliated with the University of Granada. Also, a member of the Network on Educational Research and Innovation in Spirituality at the University of Alicante.
He has undergone specialized training in spiritual care in pediatric hospitals at the Pediatric Spiritual Care Research Center of the National Health System Foundation Trust - Birmingham Children's Hospital - Spiritual Care for sick children and young people.
He is working in the pediatric palliative care unit as a spiritual counselor. The same hospital has appointed him to serve on its Care Ethics Committee since 2017.
