Researcher Àlex Cebrià Xart graduated in Biology in 2020 from the University of Barcelona and completed a Master's in Biomedicine with a specialization in Basic and Translational Cancer Research from the University of Barcelona in 2021.
During 2020 and 2021 he did curricular internships at the Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research (IDIBELL), where he studied the mechanisms involved in the formation of the toroidal nucleus as a biomarker of chromosomal instability in the context of cancer.
After joining the Pediatric Cancer Epigenetics group in September 2021 as a pre-doctoral student, his research interests include epigenetics-driven tumorigenesis in rhabdoid tumors. He uses cell and animal models to study the role of SMARCB1 mutations through genetic editing and cell sequencing to explore possible therapeutic approaches.
