Abstract

benefits of cardiac MR but also the challenges that it presents in a clinical environment. As a solution, a new approach is introduced based on 3D non angulated breath-hold scans to perform a basic CMR protocol. To enable this protocol, a new MR methodology called ESSOS (Enhanced SENSE by Static Outer volume Subtraction) has been developed to acquire 3D cine acquisitions in a single breath-hold. This presentation will explain the basic principles of ESSOS and presents the first in human validation of this technology comparing the results with gold standard 2D cine sequences.
